Stand clear of the closing door!

There comes a point in every post-fifty-year-old person’s life when you realise all the quick-fix diet and unsustainable exercise routines will not give you good health into your eighties or maybe evening your nineties! In truth, often the quick fix can do more damage than good.

If you’re like me you tried them most of the quick-fix alternatives available; Weight Watchers, Atkins, Paleo, Low GI, Gluten Free, Jenny Craig, 5-2, Intermittent Fasting… potions, pills and shakes—you name it I’ve been there. I’ve also done more than my share of what I call ‘gym guilt’—you know, six weeks of enthusiasm and a years worth of paying gym fees; only to leave you feeling more depressed and disillusioned—that is until you listen to the next advertorial advice grounded in pseudo-science and you fall for the next book, programme or a pill, and the cycle starts all over again. The spiral continues with more and more frustration and a decrease in self-esteem and confidence.

What do we need to do now? To finally established life habits that must be; low cost, we can do anywhere without expensive equipment, supplements, subscriptions etc. BUT will sustain us into old age.

So this blog is about sharing my journey in the sincere hope that my experiences may also benefit you.
